What a wonderful 2 weeks its been since I last posted. I'm sorry, I was on holiday. But I have some nice little stories lined up.

Gmail (again) to GoogleMail?
Gmail have started giving UK residents the email address '@googlemail.com' because someone has trademarked it our something. Smart idea probably, someone willw alk out of this rich. Read the Google articile Here
Now that will affect a lot of people, I would much rather have @gmail.com than @googlemail.com.
Anyway I have discovered that Ipod shuffles are water proof! It was an accidental discovery though, I left my Ipod in my jeans and put them in the wash. Then I saw my poor iPod being flung around in the washing machine so I turned it off and opened the door and got soaked. Then I put the iPod in a warm dry place and checked the warranty. Unfirtunately it dosen't cover accidental washings. But it dried out an works fine, the buttons are a little stiff though.
I saw this story on Digg, it was on the main page so wasn't that hard. Anyway a company called Optware have made a disc, called HVD (Holographic Vertasile Disc), that can hold up to 3.9 Terabytes. At the moment it is only 1TB, but it has 1Gbps transfer rate. This is some disc but I saw somewhere that each HVD would cost around $10000000000. I'll but two then. Anyway if these can be produced cheaply then Blu-Ray and HD-DVD will die before they start.

Yes finally i have posted again, but I'm writing this in a bit of a rush. I've decided to do lots of stories (3) instead of lots of random posts. This should give you something more wholesome and full of goodness to read and let your brain digest slowly. Ok I should shut up now.

Gmail Invites:
Gmail have doubled their invites. I now have 100 new shiny invites. Want one? TOUGH!!!! But seemingly Americans can get Gmail without an invite, which kind of sucks. So too annoy them I'll give people invites if you want. You know my email address, or should I say Gmail address. Time to shut up again.

Hmmm..... While I'm waiting for the screen shot to upload I'll talk about this evil conspiracy. Before Blogger let you put photos on directly you had to use Flickr. But now that Flickr is being bought by Yahoo! you can do it straight in Blogger. Is this a bit of rivalry between Google and Yahoo!?

Alien killed my dog:
Not my dog but I read this story on Reuters about a man who was hiking with his dog in a forest in Seattle. Dodgy enough i know but suddenly a gray ripped his dog apart. Pobably because the man hadn't cleaned up his dog's mess and the gray had stood in it. After this the Alien came and lived with him for 9 days and they communicated via telepathy. Sounds fun heres what I think happened:
"You killed my dog!!!"
I am your friend
"Ok come live with me"
Very likely but I'm not going to mess with the grays. Those guys kick ass.

iPod Nano:
Apple have realeased a new iPod. Which shadowed the release of the first iTunes phone. But seemingly this new iPod is not actually that good. It's stylish and holds a decent amount of songs (1000) but the screen breaks really easily and it scratches like an over hyped DJ on a Saturday night. But it has made the Mini obsolete (theres one for you DXY) and is pretty cool. I want one, so do you......

By mistake I got into the Wikipedia Databse Dumps. I have no idea what this is and why i was sent there. I was searching for The Flying Sphagetti Monster and ended up there.

Google Talk Interview

I downloaded Google Talk as I have heard a lot about it. It was quick to download, install and run. I was really suprised how well it works and it dosen't slow my computer down at all. i only have 2 complaints about it.
1. It won't use my selected nickname as my Google Talk name

2. No one I know uses it!

For some reason all my friends who use MSN won't switch to google talk. They laughed when I said it was so much better and called me a geek when I told them I would invite them to Gmail as it has over 2500mb (2508 or something). What is wrong with them!!! So all I can say is screw you guys I'm using Google Talk from now on. Get it here

To prove my point I decided to interview passers-by about Google Talk. Heres what went down

At this point I was attacked and had his mic stolen. What does this prove? Normal* people won't use Google Talk and never walk around Glasgow with any sort of electrical equipment

Google Ads on MSN spaces

I was bored and went on MSN (VERY bored) and decided to try and make some money from my msn space. You can't edit the HTML of the space but you can put HTML in the blog posts so I copied the GoogleAds code into my blog entry. But msn ignored the HTML for google search and made it an image instead. I tried again but it wouldn't let me. Then when i tried to publish the post it told me my space was unavailable. So when i got it back I put a spread firefox button to get back at them.

I was thinking of making Greenportal.com. I went to netdaze as they are very cheap and it said Greenportal.com was taken so I typed in greenportal.com and it went to some site that I get put to all the time. They told me greenportal.com was for sale so I had a look at the price thinking I could buy it with my Splashplastic. It was $2500 is it just me or is that a bit expensive considering Netdaze is £6.00 for a year??

Im back from my Holiday. I tried to post from my phone but it never worked.

So Microsoft are fed up with firefox taking over and have created IE 7. Now if you have a look at some of the 'new' internet explorers features you'll notice something familiar. Basically everything on Firefox has been copied. Also IE 7 only lets you search with the MSN search. If you go to the Microsoft website your computer will be scanned before you can download anything. Any pirate software? Microsoft will know. Of course when the new Windows comes out. You may only be able to use IE.

When you try to download Firefox you may be told it could be bad for your computer. This isn't true

Seemingly I ALWAYS start my posts with well. Well I'll stop then.

SO whats new. I downloaded this great program that lets you use your Gmail (yes, Gmail again) as another drive. In the My Computer screen you can open it and put anything you like in it. As long as the name is not more than 40 caracters long or the file is bigger than 10mbs. But its still quite good. Get it here

Google have started a email service called Gmail. You can only join by invite. It has 2GB of space for emails and this guy used his account to store music. Check it out on his blog

Well you'll be happy to know I never died. I lost the password to my Blogger acount and had to do all this complicated stuff which took ages. But I changed my pass to something easily remembered and will start posting everyday.

I don't believe it. Doom (remember the 2d monsters and double barrel shotgun?) is coming to cinema. WTF???? Ok on the website it says this and I quote

Just found out about a new program called fireANT it lets you download videos and movies and make it comes with built-in BitTorrent, a complete subscription to RSS and allows you to sync media to your psp (when they arrive in Europe) or iPod, sounds good???

And its free!!!!

You can get the free version of eDonkey from here (scroll right down to find it)
You can get eMule free from here (select the mirror nearest to where you live)

I downloaded eMule and eDonkey and found eDonkey a lot better but many people swear by eMule so it's really up to you.

Obviously many people already have these programs thats why they are currently the best but if your behind everyone (like I was) get them from the links.

Unfortunaely the way p2p works by next year most people will probably be using completely different program from eDonkey or eMule so get it while it is still the best.

A good website for free downloads is download.com

Not much of an update.

But I found a great site if you use Bittorrents.
Check out the pirate bay it works like google it even has a I'm Feeling Lucky button. But you must have bittorrent program. E-donkey works and you can get a bittorrent program from here Also if your a big fan of energy drinks check out this site. Found, once again, thanks to Digg
